Ivo Hauptmann (1886-1973) was a German painter who, among others, founded the “Hamburgische Secession” and “Freie Secession”. He was a friend of Rainer Maria Rilke, Auguste Rodin and Otto Illies and worked in Paris for a time. Hauptmann’s works are extremely colorful and expressive.
