Tusche Schellack siena und blau auf Papier

Carola Pieper, born 1971 in Magdeburg, moved to Ahrenshoop in 1994. There, she took over an antique print workshop and established it in an old mill. She then turned to capturing the essence of the landscape in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with its characteristic cliffs, endless beaches, and enchanting lakes. Compact landmasses and fragile structures alike harmonize with each other, the white paper, however, remains visible as the foundation. The beholder recognizes the emptiness as a subtle interpretation of the light vastness the landscape holds.
