Jonathan Meese (born 1970) is one of the most famous contemporary German artists of his generation. His work mostly consists of room installations featuring objects of everyday life, as well as pictures and collages, sceneries, and performances. His work can be described as unhinged, anarchic, and expressive and he often makes historic personalities, myths and legends the topic of his oeuvre.
