Klaus Fußmann (born 1938) is perhaps the most important contemporary German painter of landscapes and flowers. The Museum Ostwall in Dortmund, Germany refers to him as “one of the most important representatives of figurative painting in Germany”. The art world honored Fußmann’s work with several exhibitions; the Barberini Museum in Potsdam dedicated to him a large retrospective in 2018. Fußmann is one of the few artists to be invited to exhibit their works in the Bundeskanzleramt in Bonn, which he did in 1996. He was a professor at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and is a member of the Freie Akademie Hamburg.
