Similar to the "Hokusai Manga", as Hokusai was Hokkei's teacher.
Totoya Hokkei (1780-1850) was a Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print artist and a student of the great master Katsushika Hokusai. His work is very reminiscent of his teacher’s, being characterized by a form of elegant simplicity. Just like his teacher did with the “Hokusai Manga”, Hokkei published some woodblock print sketchbooks called “Hokkei Manga”. Hokkei also illustrated books and painted occasionally.
